Using 'deeper' case method to introduce legal theory and context

Australian legal education has undoubtedly come a long way in the past 20 years. At the time of the landmark Pearce Report, the prevailing model of legal education was extremely narrow in focus, and was concerned almost exclusively with teaching legal rules and principles in a range of core subjects and electives. By 2011, legal education had broadened considerably in its focus, and the curriculum in most Australian law schools is concerned not only with teaching legal rules and principles, but with developing generic and legal skills in law students and teaching legal ethics to students.
