Extract : Early identification and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is highly cost effective and can reduce the risk of kidney disease progression and cardiovascular damage by up to 50%. There are well established guidelines available to accurately detect proteinuria which is a key marker of CKD but these guidelines are not widely followed in general practice and the ability to persuade general practitioners to adopt new guidelines is challenging
