In 1981 Associated Alloys Pty Limited (hereinafter the Seller) commenced selling steel to Metropolitan Engineering and Fabrication Pty Limited (hereinafter the Buyer), a manufacturer of steel products. In 1987 or 1988, the Seller started the practice of including the following printed clause (hereinafter the printed clause) on the reverse side of the invoices which it issued to the Buyer.
