Author Information: Jason J. Blazevic is a doctoral candidate, fellow, and instructor in the Department of Political Science at Idaho State University. He teaches courses in American government and history, as well as international relations and East Asian politics. His dissertation China’s Pursuit of Power: Objectives and Consequences of the Security Boundary applies international relations theory to energy and sea lane security in East and Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean. His research has led to many published articles in journals such as China Security, the Stanford Journal of East Asian Affairs and The Journal of Current Chinese Affairs.
