Pathoanatomy of elite swimmer’s shoulder and system development: A multicentre MRI study
This methodology describes how data was collected for the project.
This project will help to clarify the relationship between MRI findings and the development of shoulder pain in elite swimmers. Abnormal MRI findings can lead to decisions about treatment directions and may result in training modifications, by having an understanding of what findings are “normal” among elite swimmers this may have a direct impact on how we treat and modify training loads amongst our elite swimmers. The project will also determine the capacity to use MRI findings to predict future response to training load and development of symptomatic overuse injury of the shoulder.
