[extract] They [Mary Hiscock and David Allan] have both accomplished much in many aspects of comparative commercial law but this little offering aims to honour their distinguished origins as Equity lawyers. It presents unconnected insights into the development of Equity in English law, mostly gleaned from searching primary sources for other purposes. Now we know that the presence, let alone the attitude, of the observer can affect the experiment’s result, there is even more justification for publishing the chance discovery.
